We were on the radio this week!
Tenemos una version en español aquí
In my previous posts I have shared with you bits and pieces of our field site. I've focused on how our plots are developing and what we plan to do with them without much of a context. Well, what you may not yet know is that our field site is only one part of the multiple pieces that make up our project.
The project as a whole is called #AgroIguanero and with it we approach the possible effects of the Green Iguana on Puerto Rico's agricultural community. The key word being community. We don't exclusively want to learn about how to protect lettuce and cucumber in AgroIguanero. We also want to learn about the relationships people have with the #GreenIguana.
Is it love? Is it Hate? We-want-to-know!
Why do we want to know? Because conflicts between wildlife and people are important to understand when you decide to build management plans.
To get to know the relationships among people and the Green Iguana we have interviewed 21 farmers from around Puerto Rico and now we are distributing an island wide survey.

If you are or have been a farmer we ask that you fill in the survey. If you know a farmer, we beg you to send them the survey. Or better yet, get a smartphone in their hands and help them fill it out. Pretty please with a cherry on top!
See you next week!
